How it works:
Blocks histamine type 1 receptors
Dosage Form: Tablet Tablet - 60mg, 180mg; ER tablet - 180mg; Oral disintegrating tablet (for children) - 30mg; Suspension (for children) - 30mg/5mL
Common Usage: allergy symptoms such as runny nose, itchy eyes/nose, sneezing, "hay fever", hives
Precautions:
Pregnancy
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Should be used during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus.
Lactation
Not expected to cause adverse effects
Warnings
contraindications include hypersensitivity to drug or ingredients, caution: pts >65 years old, kidney disease, Phenylketonuria
