How it works:

Glucocorticoid agonist

Dosage Form: Tablet Tablet - 2mg, 4mg, 8mg, 16mg, 32mg , injectable suspension - 20mg/mL, 40mg/mL, 80mg/mL , powder for injection - 40mg, 125mg, 500mg, 1g, 2g

Pregnancy

Methylprednisolone is a preferred oral corticosteroid for the treatment of maternal conditions during pregnancy because placental enzymes limit passage to the embryo

Lactation

Corticosteroids are generally considered acceptable in breastfeeding women when used in usual doses; however, monitoring of the breastfeeding infant is recommended

Warnings

Contraindicated: Hypersensitivity, administration of live vaccines, systemic fungal infections ; Warnings: adrenal suppression, caution in renal and hepatic impairment
