How it works:

Alpha-1 selective adrenergic agonist

Dosage Form: Tablet Tablet - 2.5mg 5mg, 10mg

Common Usage: Increasing blood pressure

Precautions:

Pregnancy

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Midodrine hydrochloride should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus

Lactation

It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when midodrine is administered to a nursing woman

Warnings

Black Box Warning: Marked elevation of supine blood pressure , Contraindicated: Acute renal disease, severe organic heart disease, excessive supine hypertension, pheochromocytoma, thyrotoxicosis, urinary retention ; Warnings: Caution in renal and hepatic impairment
